The HSE Engineer is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining health, safety, and environmental programs and policies to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and to create a safe and healthy work environment for employees.
Key Responsibilities:
Policy Development: Develop and implement health, safety, and environmental policies, procedures, and programs in alignment with regulatory requirements and company objectives.
Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations and standards, including OSHA, EPA, and other regulatory agencies.
Risk Assessment: Conduct regular risk assessments and inspections to identify hazards, evaluate risks, and implement appropriate controls to mitigate risks.
Training: Develop and deliver HSE training programs for employees, supervisors, and managers to promote awareness and compliance with safety protocols and procedures.
Incident Investigation: Lead investigations into workplace incidents, accidents, and near misses to identify root causes and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
Emergency Response: Develop and implement emergency response plans and procedures to effectively respond to accidents, spills, and other emergencies.
Environmental Management: Manage environmental programs, including waste management, pollution prevention, and sustainability initiatives to minimize the company's environmental footprint.
Documentation: Maintain accurate records and documentation related to HSE activities, including incident reports, training records, and regulatory permits.
Auditing: Conduct regular HSE audits and inspections to assess compliance with policies and regulations and identify areas for improvement.
Communication: Communicate HSE policies, procedures, and initiatives to employees, management, and regulatory agencies to promote a culture of safety and environmental stewardship.
