The HSE Engineer is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining health, safety, and environmental programs to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies. The HSE Engineer will work closely with other departments to promote a safe working environment and minimize the company's environmental impact.
Key Responsibilities:
Safety Programs:
- Develop, implement, and maintain safety programs and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
- Conduct safety training for employees, including new employee orientations, safety meetings, and specialized training as needed.
Risk Assessment:
- Conduct risk assessments and safety audits to identify hazards and evaluate risk levels in the workplace.
- Implement corrective actions to address identified hazards and reduce risk.
Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations related to health, safety, and the environment.
- Prepare and maintain documentation required for regulatory compliance, including safety data sheets, incident reports, and inspection records.
Incident Investigation:
- Investigate workplace accidents, incidents, and near-misses to determine root causes.
- Recommend and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
Emergency Response:
- Develop and maintain emergency response plans for various types of incidents, including fire, chemical spills, and medical emergencies.
- Conduct emergency drills to ensure preparedness.
Environmental Protection:
- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations, including waste disposal, air quality, and water quality.
- Implement programs to reduce the company's environmental impact, such as recycling and energy conservation.
Continuous Improvement:
- Collaborate with other departments to identify opportunities for safety and environmental improvements.
- Stay up-to-date with industry best practices and emerging safety and environmental trends.
Reporting:
- Prepare and present reports on safety and environmental metrics to management.
